The Nature
The best activity we can think of is going outside and experience the nature of Denmark. Especially the dramatic scenery of Stevns cliff running 15 km from Rødvig in the south to Bøgeskoven in the north and some places up to 41 m in height. Along the coastline you will find beech forrests, old quarries left for the nature to take over, former military facilities now turned into museums and the old church at Højerup where the signs of the erosion of the cliff is most evident. Stevns Klint (cliff) became a Unesco world heritage site in june 2014: Unescos world heritage list. Local guides offer plenty of guided tours around Stevns Klint. (See links at the bottom of the page)
Trampestien (The walking path)
In the park across from Rødvig Inn and Seaside hotel you will find the beginning of Stevns Klint Trampesti. It is a very special route where more than 50 landowners have promised to always keep the path at the edge of the cliff free for passage. With the path it is now possible to walk from Rødvig harbour in the south to Bøgeskov harbour in the north. A path that strechtes more than 20 km.
Indoor activities
If the weather is grey and rainy and you only feel like staying indoors, then we can provide you with cosy, fun stuff to do at the hotel. We have several board games, beautiful art on the walls to study, a well stocked library for the avid reader and two fireplaces where you can cuddle up with a cup of coffee and enjoy the view of the ocean.
Kalklandet (The limestone country)
“Kalklandet” is the combined name for Stevnsfort cold war museum, Geomuseum Faxe and guided tours in the summer at Højerup old church and in Boesdal quarry. See their homepage for more information: www.kalklandet.dk
Camp Adventure
This weekend the much-anticipated observation tower at Camp Adventure was officially inaugurated. The iconic 45-metre tower, located one hour south of Copenhagen, is the first of its kind in Scandinavia. It will be the centerpiece in a unique nature experience, bringing visitors closer to nature and offering a new perspective on the Scandinavian boreal forest. Se moore at Camp Adventure
